General Responsibilities:
As a Network Technician you will be primarily focused on new installations and repairs of our cable, internet, phone and Intellihome systems.
You will drive a company truck, go into customer homes, and represent Vexus Fiber to our customers.
In addition, you will learn and perform change of service, additional outlet installation, disconnection of service, payment collection, and other duties as assigned.

Specific Responsibilities:
Perform new connects, reconnects, disconnects, upgrades, downgrades and change-of-service in all weather
Install, maintain and troubleshoot fiber optic equipment/facilities fiber optic wiring inside and outside of the Central Office/Hubs to the customer premise
Activate various inside/outside OLTs, ONTs, STBs and routers at different locations
Assure proper optical light levels that will provide high quality service
Identify and report all incidents of noncompliance (FCC, NESC, OSHA and Vexus standards)
Responsible for motor vehicle per company policy including equipment and tool inventory, vehicle security and vehicle maintenance
Utilize maps and various test equipment to investigate fiber optic cable/equipment trouble and select the suitable action to correct any irregularities
Work with various connectors, fasteners and wires while utilizing various hand and power tools
Team with other departments and the Network Operations Center (NOC) to provide superior customer service and customer experience
Provide superior customer service and customer education on the proper use of Vexus Equipment
Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times, and maintain excellent attendance
Generate additional company revenue through effective sales techniques
Ability to work flexible work hours, including evenings, overnight, weekends holidays and overtime as required
Adheres to all safety protocols and Vexus policies
Other duties as assigned
Experience/Skills:
High school diploma or GED required: trade school training preferred
Valid driver’s license: satisfactory driving record
Physical Requirements:
Climb poles with proper equipment, ladders or other structures as needed.
Lifts and carries loads up to 75lbs (including line ladder); Works within limited confines, such as crawl spaces
Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights
Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
