The Program Instructor serves adult clients diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities by providing various activities to support the development of social, recreational, and life skills as scheduled by the Day Program Manager.
Conducts small group and individual activities, to include but not limited to discrete trial training and incidental teaching, for the assigned caseload.
Caseload may change depending on the needs of the facility.
Ensures all clients follow their assigned schedule and receive active treatment while in the program.
Measures and documents client attendance, performance on active treatment programs, and other information as required, according to established protocols and procedures.
Insures a safe environment and supervision of assigned areas and/or clients.
Assists with behavior management as needed.
· *Language: *Must be able to read, write, and speak in English.
Must be able to speak to large groups and make presentations with the use of visual aids.
· *Mathematical Skills: *Must be able to do simple addition and subtraction, as well as multiplication and division.
· *Education:* A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
· *Experience: *At least one year of full time employment in an ICF/ID or a day program serving adults diagnosed with intellectual or developmental disabilities is required.
· *Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: *Must have a valid Louisiana driver’s license.
· *Other Skills or Abilities: *Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
