Essential Job Responsibilities The Admissions Coordinator works in coordination with the Marketing Director to develops census and quality mix by providing prospective patients and/or responsible parties with appropriate information and assistance to the nursing center.
Sales Responsibilities Ability to utilize sales techniques to attract and obtain desired admissions to the nursing center under the direction of the Marketing Director/Administrator.
Ensures that a model room is maintained in the nursing center.
Conducts tours of the facility, completes inquiry forms for admission paperwork, and provides inquiries with brochures about nursing home, Medicare facts, and room rates.
Maintains necessary knowledge of served market areas, patient origin, and major referral sources.
Admissions Process Responsibilities Screen patients financially, visit prospective patients in the hospital and make assessment regarding his/her suitability for admission in the nursing center.
Works with Account Manager, Nursing, Social Services Department to verify eligibility and contacts insurance companies to determine or verify coverage.
Meets with families before admission to complete admissions contract.
Ability to relay to family and residents rates and charges of desired changes of accommodations, explains services and nursing home policy regarding payment of bills.
Provides welcome information, limited liability treatment policy and legal surrogate, and interprets nursing home regulations to patient concerning visitors, visiting hours, and disposition of clothing and valuables.
Customer Satisfaction Responsibilities May assist Administrator in contacting families after admission and discharge to personally determine satisfaction.
Provides timely follow-up on family or guarantor complaints and problem solves with patients and/or staff.
At the direction of the Marketing Director, ensures a welcome program is in place and functioning.
Inspects patient’s room prior to admission.
Notifies particular wing to expect patient and arranges for escort to room.
Administrative Responsibilities Assists Marketing Director in training the Admission team.
Orders, copies, and assembles admissions forms.
Provides support by assisting in the following activities: information, tracking inquiries from accounts, may be expected to provide feedback to and from the Account Manager, DON & Marketing Director.
Assists the Marketing Director with planning, coordinating, and executing community and referral source events.
Reports observations concerning structural, equipment and furniture defects and malfunctioning to appropriate personnel.
Coordinates work of department with work of other departments.
At the direction of the Marketing Director/Administrator, may be asked to attend and participate in staff meetings, departmental head meetings, or other center meetings.
Qualifications High School Diploma Sales experience, particularly in health care services, products or pharmaceuticals is desirable.
Familiarity with long term care and/or health care services useful.
Other Qualifications Has not been excluded from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Maintains eligibility to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs throughout employment.
Participate in pre-employment and annual Tuberculosis screening.
