*Job Summary:*
As a receptionist in our rural health clinic, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring their experience is positive and efficient.
Your exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail will be vital in managing appointments, handling phone calls, and maintaining accurate patient records.
By effectively managing administrative tasks, you will support the overall operations of the clinic and play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care.
*Responsibilities:*
Greet patients and visitors in a warm and friendly manner, ensuring a positive and welcoming clinic atmosphere.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, coordinating with healthcare providers and managing the appointment calendar.
Answer phone calls and address inquiries promptly and professionally, providing accurate information or directing calls to the appropriate personnel.
Register new patients and update existing patient information in the electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Collect patient insurance information, verify eligibility, and assist in completing necessary forms or documentation.
Coordinate patient referrals and maintain communication with other healthcare providers and organizations.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting payments and issuing receipts.
Maintain organized and updated patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and clinic policies.
Assist with general administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, scanning, and managing office supplies.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the reception area.
*Qualifications:*
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare or medical setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing appointments and maintaining records.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer proficiency.
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and handle a high volume of phone calls and patient inquiries.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to customer service.
Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in stressful situations.
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus but not required.
